Micah 7:8-9, 18-20
8 Rejoice
not over me, O my enemy;
when
I fall, I shall rise;
when I sit in darkness,
the
Lord will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the
indignation of the Lord
because
I have sinned against him,
until he pleads my cause
and
executes judgment for me.
He will bring me out to the light;
I
shall look upon his vindication.
God's Steadfast Love and Compassion
18 Who is a God like you,
pardoning iniquity
and
passing over transgression
for
the remnant of his inheritance?
He does not retain his anger forever,
because
he delights in steadfast love.
19 He will again have
compassion on us;
he
will tread our iniquities underfoot.
You will cast all our[a] sins
into
the depths of the sea.
20 You will show
faithfulness to Jacob
and
steadfast love to Abraham,
as you have sworn to our fathers
from
the days of old.

Psalm 13
How Long, O Lord?
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
13 How long,
O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How
long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I take
counsel in my soul
and
have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider
and answer me, O Lord my God;
light
up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4 lest my enemy say, “I
have prevailed over him,”
lest
my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
5 But I
have trusted in your steadfast love;
my
heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
because
he has dealt bountifully with me.
