10 “Be still, and know that I am God.
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
    the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Selah (Psalm 46:10-11 ESV®)

     My life seems to be like competing in the Indy 500. When I finish something, my mind quickly reminds me of the dozen things I still need to complete. I have an Air Fryer so I can roast faster than in the oven. My micro does most tasks faster than the stove or the Air Fryer. If you look at my remote control for my streaming device, you will notice that the marking on the fast forward key is worn off. The same is true on my DVR remote.

    I find waiting is one of the most unbearable things in my life. Right now, I have had medical tests performed and I am waiting to consult with the doctors about what we do next. The wait in my mind is painful.

   This morning, I started speedily doing my morning devotion. Why did this date have to cover Psalm 46? After reading the Psalm and the devotional writing, I stopped and looked around me. Looking out the window was all the wonder of God’s creation. Inside were many creature comforts. All the great things God has given me, Jesus, His Word, my Bride, a loving family and home, the church and so many friends….. It just seemed I could have spent the rest of the day remembering the way the God of the heavens and earth has enriched my path through life. I still have things to do, including creating this article, but a little pause gets my life back in order. I stop to give praise because, God is good, God is good all the time!

     Do not live life so fast, you miss your real life. The same God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob has also been resting His hand on you. Stop, take an inventory of all the good there has been within your life’s path. All you received is a gift from God (1 Corinthians 4:7). PRAISE GOD!
