1 John 1:1-8
The Word of Life
1 That
which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word[a] of life—
2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen
it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the
Father and was made manifest to us— 3 that
which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have
fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his
Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing
these things so that our[b] joy may be
complete.
Walking in the Light
5 This is the message we have heard from
him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say we have fellowship with him while
we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son
cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say
we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Psalm 24
The King of Glory
A Psalm of David.
24 The earth
is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,[a]
the
world and those who dwell therein,
2 for he has founded it upon the seas
and
established it upon the rivers.
3 Who shall ascend the hill of
the Lord?
And
who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who
does not lift up his soul to what is false
and
does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from the Lord
and
righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek
him,
who
seek the face of the God of Jacob.[b] Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
And
be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that
the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The
Lord, strong and mighty,
the
Lord, mighty in battle!
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
And
lift them up, O ancient doors,
that
the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The
Lord of hosts,
he
is the King of glory! Selah
