Romans 8:31-39
God's Everlasting Love
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for
us, who can be[a] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave
him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's
elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who
is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was
raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.[b] 35 Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For
your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be
slaughtered.”
37 No, in all
these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure
that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor
things to come, nor powers, 39 nor
height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate
us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

16 Preserve
me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”
3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent
ones,
in whom is all my delight.[b]
4 The sorrows of those who run after[c] another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not
pour out
or take their names on my lips.
5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant
places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart
instructs me.[d]
8 I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I
shall not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being[e] rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
10 For you will not abandon my soul
to Sheol,
or let your holy one
see corruption.[f]
11 You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of
joy;
at your right hand are pleasures
forevermore.
