October 15, 2024 PORTALS OF PRAYER READINGS
Colossians 4:1-6
4 Masters,
treat your bondservants[a] justly and fairly, knowing that you also
have a Master in heaven.
Further Instructions
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being
watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may
open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of
which I am in prison— 4 that
I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom
toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be
gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each
person.

Psalm 120
Deliver
Me, O Lord
A Song of Ascents.
120 In my
distress I called to the Lord,
and
he answered me.
2 Deliver me, O Lord,
from
lying lips,
from
a deceitful tongue.
3 What
shall be given to you,
and
what more shall be done to you,
you
deceitful tongue?
4 A warrior's sharp
arrows,
with
glowing coals of the broom tree!
5 Woe to
me, that I sojourn in Meshech,
that
I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6 Too long have I had my
dwelling
among
those who hate peace.
7 I am for peace,
but
when I speak, they are for war!
