2 Corinthians 5:16-21
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one
according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the
flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[a] The old
has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All
this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the
ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is,
in Christ God was reconciling[b] the world
to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us
the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore,
we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you
on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For
our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become
the righteousness of God.

Psalm 51:10-17
10 Create in me a clean heart, O
God,
and
renew a right[a] spirit
within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence,
and
take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and
uphold me with a willing spirit.
13 Then I will teach
transgressors your ways,
and
sinners will return to you.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God,
O
God of my salvation,
and
my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
15 O Lord, open my lips,
and
my mouth will declare your praise.
16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I
would give it;
you
will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a
broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
