Matthew 11:25-30
Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest
25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden
these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little
children; 26 yes, Father, for such was
your gracious will.[a] 27 All things have been handed over to me by my
Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father
except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and
I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke
upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke
is easy, and my burden is light.”

Psalm 62:1-7
My Soul Waits for God Alone
To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of
David.
62 For God
alone my soul waits in silence;
from
him comes my salvation.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my
fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
3 How long will all of you
attack a man
to
batter him,
like
a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
4 They only plan to thrust him down from his
high position.
They
take pleasure in falsehood.
They bless with their mouths,
but
inwardly they curse. Selah
5 For God alone, O my soul, wait
in silence,
for
my hope is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation,
my
fortress; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my
mighty rock, my refuge is God.
